Additional Charges

Each user group and event is unique. Please be aware that you may be required to pay more than simply the permit fee and the rental cost of the space you have booked.

Caretaker Fees

Opening and closing of school

Where a caretaker has been designated to open and/or close the school, and is required to do so outside of his/her regular shift, the organization shall be charged a fee, as established by the Board.

Preparation and clean up

The permit holder is responsible for the preparation and clean-up of the premises. Should the permit holder require the caretaker(s) to perform such work, the permit holder will be charged an additional fee at the rate of one and one-half times the current hourly rate for caretakers. If, in the opinion of the principal and the caretaker, the premises has not been used properly or has been left in an unsatisfactory condition, the permit holder may be required to pay an additional cleaning time fee.


Every permit holder must supply and provide proof of valid insurance. Permit holders shall request a Certificate of Insurance from their insurance broker for General Liability insurance in the amount of $2 million, naming the “Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board” as an additional insured on the policy. The Board will purchase insurance for groups who are unable to provide a Certificate of Insurance. The cost of insurance will be reflected in the permit.

Flushing Fee

If applicable, a flushing fee of $53.64 will be applied to bookings in schools that require flushing.

Maintenance Fee

Every booking is subject to a $5.00 maintenance fee. This fee is applied directly to cost recovery expenses only and is subject to change upon the end-of-year review of Community Use of Schools booking expenditures. It the maintenance fee is scheduled to change, the public will be notified in advance, via the Community Use of Schools Online Booking System.

Key Fee

There is a non-refundable ten dollar ($10) fee for an electronic key/swipe card which is issued to the permit holder.  This card will provide access to the facility based on the specific location and times approved on the permit.  Once the life of the permit has expired, the key will no longer be active.  Keys can be reactivated each year for permits that are renewed.  The key fee is part of the permit costs.

Cancellation Fees and Change Permit Fees

Once you book your event and it is approved, no other user has access to that space.  Any permits and/or bookings cancelled less than the number of days detailed in the Administrative Procedure will be subject to a fee.  You will not be charged for inclement weather days or days cancelled by the Board.

Once your permit has been approved, any booking that is modified is subject to a change fee.
